In Twelfth Night, our characters live in a world where they are drowning in their own excessive emotions. Orsino sings of his fair Olivia from afar, Olivia mourns for her death brother, Viola wants Orsino (the duke she works for under guise as a boy), Malvolio decks himself out in his infamous yellow stockings because he has deluded himself into thinking his mistress loves him. Our entire play took place amidst the wreckage of a ship, with its broken mast hanging like the Sword of Damocles above. Jessica wanted a saturated color world, with tints and hues taken from a research image of what photographers call "the magic hour".
