50:13 is set in a nondescript jail cell, where 35 year-old Dae Brown gives advice to the unseen teenage New Orleans about how to survive life, inside the jail and out. Live feed of a camera shows up on TVs overhead, as if from the boy's point of view. The team was interested in recreating an actual jail experience, from the arena staging, to offstage prison riots, to the harsh glare of overhead fluorescents.
